Well, first off, never forget we could’ve addressed this to at least SOME degree years ago, but Trump used his influence while not even holding office to get a very solid bipartisan bill killed, for the sole reason (and don’t believe any horseshit to the contrary) that it would both give Biden a win, and would alleviate one of the major things Trump needed to campaign on, because they know his base is racist/xenophobic and jacks/jills off to the thought of cruelty against people different from them in whatever way. That’s part of their character makeup, it seems, to the naked eye, anyway.

So any crime committed by any migrants after that bill was killed, Trump and MAGA can wear that.

But now is the dog-and-pony show. News coverage of arrests, establishing a narrative that everything has been wildly out of control. Tough Guy Trump. That’s what this is about. He’s an ego guy, but he’s a silver spoon, and he’s probably never thrown or eaten a punch in his life…. and that bothers him. He wants people to think he’s tough. So at every turn, he’s trying to flex. Even MAGA men seem very insecure in their masculinity, with the trucks annd the guns annd anll the “fuck around and find out” (LOL) bullshit…. for every true tough looking guy, I see a few dozen posers, little pussies trying to play tough. Kyle Rittenhouse, lmao, a fat little bitch playing Rambo.

Our border “crisis” is much more about asylum adjudication in reality, it’s not like there’s just a wide open fence people are pouring through by the millions, lmao. That’s the cartoon version of the border crisis, not the reality. The reality is a court case backlog, not enough immigration judges, and then inadequate staffing and technologies to detect drug trafficking.

Also, for all the hubbub about “fent-a-nol” (why can no one pronounce this right? It’s “NYL”, “fenta-NYL”🤦‍♂️), it’s believed that less than 10% of US fentanyl is coming in through the border carried by non-US citizens…. so there’s that, too.

Also love that these same people who probably speak little English, and haven’t yet assimilated to our society and gotten settled yet are somehow going to “tek yer jarb” at the farm you definitely don’t work at picking lemons or whatever for five bucks an hour under the table.

I am a bit ambivalent.

I want a border lockdown; there porousness of the southern border is unacceptable.

As for illegal immigrants already here, whatever does happen needs to happen legally. Every person and case is different.

As for birthright citizenship, Trump's Executive Order (1) on that was already put on hold by a Federal judge (2) because it is obviously and blatantly unconstitutional as it violates Section 1 of the 14th Amendment (3). These are words from the judge during the hearing before he signed the temporary restraining order blocking enforcement of the Executive Order:

"I am having trouble understanding how a member of the bar could state unequivocally that this order is constitutional," the judge told a U. S. Justice Department lawyer defending Trump's order. "It just boggles my mind."

"I've been on the bench for over four decades. I can't remember another case where the question presented is as clear as this one. This is a blatantly unconstitutional order," Coughenour said of Trump's policy.
