I'm into skateboarding (life-long hobby since I was 7, and sponsored throughout my teens) though I don't really have any recent pictures outside of a local magazine article clipping from a contest. I was never the type to take many pictures. But it's me when I was a freshman in high school.
I actually had to borrow oversized pads and a skateboard for that contest since I didn't know they were having one, and someone lent their pads and board to me. Then I ended up winning the contest.
I like skateboarding since it's like your body doesn't want to move in that way. You get punished every time you mess up with pain. So you have to learn to overcome pain, and you get rewarded being able to land new tricks. I also love the feeling of the vert ramp (though the above pic was mini-ramp, only 6 feet, and no vert). It feels like flying to me when I do airs off the coping.23 Reply- +1 y
I guess I'm kind of a masochist but I don't like to just hurt myself for no reason. I like it when pain is a part of the obstacle we have to overcome in order to accomplish something. So you practice like a new trick a hundred times, fall so many times, maybe have to go to take time out here and there to recover from injuries, and then finally land the trick. And that's the best feeling to me.

It's not the most dangerous sport. I've actually only broken bones a few times, and for vert any sane person would wear pads. But you take lots and lots of falls over and over, and hanging up on the coping from an air tends to hurt very badly even with all the pads. So there's a constant sense of discouragement in the form of mild pain with every fail -- and so that tends to make it more rewarding when we succeed.

Was also sprinter and long jumper on the track team but I wasn't that into it. I didn't enjoy it so much except that I was the fastest at 100M and longest jumper, but I never trained specifically for it. I think I got the explosive power almost exclusively from skateboarding. I'd probably enjoy like MMA or contact sports like American football, but never got to try those.

Rugby is my favourite sport to watch as it requires both brains and brawn and a fuck ton of skill and athleticism. I used to love playing it but I fell out with my coach and quit. Now I play lacrosse because it's the only other full contact sport that isn't American Football which I hate because it has no flow.

Iomáint (Hurling) is my favourite sport. A sport played by big strong men, a mix between Peil (gaelic football) and baseball and maybe kinda hockey? The players wear only a helmet, sometimes shin guards and they carry a camán and hit the Sliotar very hard across the field. by the way the sliotar is a solid ball of leather and cork, imagine being hit by that on a cold rainy Irish day wearing no protection besides a helmet! That's why it's MY favourite sport!

My favorite sport is football. I love it because it requires physical resistance, quick strategy building within the field, if the team is well connected you can enjoy the most beautiful display of teamwork and its very passionate.

Football (soccer for ya noobs). Because you can fool around with all manner of kicks you've learnt, for example, in taekwondo. A very dynamic sport where single goals actually mean something, in contrast to basketball. You use your whole body, yet isn't determined wholly on a physical attribute like basketball. In theory anyone can be good at football, with practice. It's the everyday man's sport. Of course there are aspects I don't like, like girly-boy rolling on the ground from a shoulder pat and pretending to be hurt, and violent over-enthusiastic fans.

I like tennis because it requires limited movement. It only requires one other person. So your not planning a group outing and you don't have to wait for everyone to be free for you all to go and play it.
It easy to learn and not too hard on your feet. Allows you to break a sweat without breaking your legs and losing your will to live.00 Reply 1.4K opinions shared on Sports topic. American tackle football is the greatest sport in the world. A sport where you can knock the living hell out of somebody and be honored without being arrested, you can totally dominate your opponent and feel so proud and excited and everybody just builds you up and honors you and the thrill of the crowd yelling and cheering your name is absolutely awesome
00 ReplySkateboarding, because i just love it. It makes you look cool, and you can actually go in competition to win prizes
MMA, also another thing i do. You pretty much get paid to get beat up, or win too. And it is useful for self defense.10 Reply- +1 y
Football because of the environment on beautiful fields and the action.
Basketball for the level of coordination needed.
MMA because it is the epitome of fighter's spirit.-
I don't really single out any of these as an absolute favorite though.00 Reply - +1 y

Soccer. I hate in sports when they stop the clock constantly. In soccer they don’t.
00 Reply I like skateboarding because it is not a team sport, you can do your own thing wherever and whenever you like, it is impressive and dangerous and it takes years to get good at it.
