The U. S. is number 1 in CONCACAF despite what Mexican and Costa Rican fans say. The U. S. was the only CONCACAF team to advance to the knock-out round. The US has had successes against European teams in the past. And they made it to the quarter final in Korea.
The US still has some work to do though, but Berhalter is a good coach.

It's tough to predict. It's probably between Brazil and France but I wouldn't count out Spain and Portugal. Netherlands are a long shot.

USA has only themselves to blame for their loss. I didn't feel bad for them. On the other hand, I agree with Julie that they are still building a team for OUR cup. I'm more sad that Uruguay got eliminated. I knew the USA didn't have a chance so I always root for Uruguay, but at least they took Ghana with them, who I hate.

Yeah, the US is still in the transition phase, which is always the worst. France was in the transition phase last World Cup. They were building a team for Qatar, and no one expected them to win Russia. This is why France is kicking so much ass, which the defending champion rarely does. So France is an interesting scenario. That whole World Cup was very strange. No one expected Croatia in the final.
