That is one possible reason. It is also possible that people are paying less attention to the NFL because it has become more politicized and had adopted the woke corporate mentality. And maybe some people resent playing two "national anthems" when we are supposed to be ONE country. The regular season viewership was down by 3% compared to the previous year. Do you have a woke explanation for THAT?

"Woke" has nothing to do with it and, if it did, then fine. That's evolution in action.
But the answer has to do with the shifting in how the game was broadcast.

So, maybe all these woke young people are now watching a woke NFL.

Just feels very divisive at the point. There was a black national anthem played along with only black music was only allowed to be played during the game.

America is very diverse. We need to represent everyone. People are starting to say that America is a white and black nation.
