Greg Berhalter has finally been canned after the U. S. failed to advance from the group stage in the Copa America.

Former Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp was the fan favorite, but he said he's not interested in the job.

Even by changing coach American team is nowhere near being good, they're still quite behind compared to others team

Canada played great in the Gold Cup, then played like shit in Nation's League and once again played good in Copa America right after the changed their coach.

The coach decides who plays, which is important. I do think we have a few players who shouldn't on the field. A lot of them got bought by European clubs and aren't playing and coach is putting them in. We were doing better and went backwards, even our players that were good. This is supposed to be our "Golden Generation". lol I do think there's more going on then just coaching issues. We can only beat Mexico, and Mexico sucks too. This is embarrassing for CONCACAF

Make football be a popular sport in America if it was as popular as NBA or American football you would get better because you would have a lot more player to chose from.
And you also need lots of good football association with good teacher but it would take some decade to do I think.
Most Nation that are good at football have been big fan of it since multiple decade.

Canada isn't that great though
I don't remember ever seeing them in World cup. (I may be mistaken though)

The most important is to train young player well this mean when they're children you can get any coach you want if they don't have the proper training as kid they'r not gonna go that far when paired in front of bigger nation of football.

European club aren't all great, which club do they play in? Bordeaux and Lorient for example aren't exactly what I would call a great club.

It's already number 4. It beat put ice hockey. It's grown in recent years. Usually it's success that breeds popularity though. Americans like sports they're good at. But I think having a large Hispanic population also helps a lot.

Yeah, our football association sucks. We got so many complaints in CONCACAF about our stadiums, organization, security and other things. It's embarrassing, especially since we're hosting World Cup in a couple years.

Canada only very recently started to show some progress in soccer, though I doubt they could compete with major European teams. They were in 1986 and they were in Qatar apparently (which is strange, because I don't remember seeing them there)

Yeah. If Pulsic was gonna be the next Donovan, he would have done it already. Usually the best players start very young. Even our goalie sucks now, and we've always at least had the best goal keeper.

Usually the club coaches are for training players and national team coaches are just for strategy.
Our goalie plays for Nottingham Forest. A few are in the Premier League and Bundesleague. I honesty can't think of them off the top of my head. I don't really follow club football. My dad does.

Yes but do you have good football association for the youth? It's extremely important, in France we have a lot of "sport etude" mean that they go in a special middle school to learn to play their sport good plus getting an education both at the same time.

I was so confused when they announced that World cup was going to be in America, it also suck when you want to watch the match cause they put them at really horrible hours.
Same when it used to be in Brazil and Uruguay.

Not really. Though we've had a few youth players become successful. I don't know if we've ever won and Under 20 or an Under 17, but those don't get much attention.
I heard about that. And they also have special schools for coaches. We don't have that here, but our colleges have good sport's programs. Another thing about the U. S. is it's a massive country with a massive population.
In small countries with small population, it's easy for scouts to find talent and recruit. We have scouts here, but we have so many people, that there might be a really good player and they will never get noticed.

Why? I think the only other serious contender was Morocco. I don't know why they're doing so many joint bids though. The one after is gonna be really stupid. They basically didn't wanna hurt anyone's feelings, and I don't know if Saudi has been confirmed or not.
Also, they have to do rotation. Each confederation needs at least a two tournament gap before it can host again.

It's good for us though. They try to accommodate that as best as they can, but sometimes if there is bug time zone difference it really sucks, because games are really morning or in the middle of the night, and it's no fun to watch re-runs.
When we hosted in 1994, we had a record attendance and record viewing. We have the best stadiums in the world, though not anymore apparently. But Canada embarrassed itself. They couldn't even put two cities.

Apparently the tickets are sold on a lottery too. So you can reserve a seat and won't even have a guarantee that you'll get it. But I would love to attended, but the closest matches are an entire day's drive. I also don't understand why we don't put one group in one city, since our country is so massive and we have no bullet train.

Yea but college aged is too late for example one of the best player of Euro was Lamine Yamal and he started the euro by being only 16 he turned 17 just before the finals.
He's extremely young.
They were too another great player that was very young Arda Guler and Kenan Yildiz both 19.
Normally those player would have played in U19 and U23 but they were so good they went to play in big cub and their national team.
So having good college sport is too late.
Surely it's where American are going wrong, they need to start very young to be good and be able to go against bigger team.
Which is surprising as to why they're so bad, how do you have no real talents with so many people? The smaller the countries the harder is it to get good player just ask Gibraltar and San Marin.

Morroco was a big surprise for most of the world how good they were this years.
re-reuns are ok if you haven't been spoiled I watch finals of copa America as re-runs as it was too late, it was 3 am to 5 am but apparently it was delayed by more than one hours too.

Yeah, there was one guy playing for the Spanish team, he had to get substituted a few times, because apparently in Germany it's illegal for people under 18 to work after a certain time, 11:00 I think, and apparently UEFA had to abide by German law. It was the first time I'd ever heard of something like that. I think it was Yamal.

The thing is in America kids have better options. It's mostly poor kids who try to get into sports.

Yes, they were. And Croatia too. Oh, they showed the final? Cool. Yeah, it got delayed over an hour because there were some rowdy fans and some fans tried to get in without tickets, and they didn't have enough security.

I was, but I was only 2, so I don't remember XD. But my dad said in terms of scores and gameplay, it was one of the worst World Cups. But after it, the U. S. started to get their shit together for a little bit.
