Would you like to see an Olympics organized by someone other than the IOC?

Some individuals involved with the Russian and Belarus governments have spoken out about being banned from the Olympics. In their opinion, politics should play no part in sports and in (paraphrasing) order to determine the very best in the world, all "athletes" should be invited to compete.

There's a proposal that a separate Olympics be organized, played in a different year of the current Olympics, where all counties, regardless of government, would be invited to compete. I'd assume this would mean being played in an odd year instead of even (i. e. 2025).

Sport has always been political, it always will be political, it cannot really help it, people are representing that country and others are representing theirs. The irony of those fuckwits (Russia and Belarus etc) to say sport should not be political and then propose an alternative Olympics, which in turn would be very political. Very much against another alternative, as we already have the World Championships.
If people went for the Olympics, we would have, the Olympics and World Championships and this other bollox, yeah not happening.

According to the conversation, there were already quite a few eastern countries that have signed on.

In some different dimension utopia yes sport might not be political but on this planet it is very much so, especially when you have the likes of Russia pushing the Friendship games, then hardly anyone turning up, to the point a winner is a Lithuanian that did not even compete in the games as his opponent from Romania also did not attend.

The Friendship Games proposed location is also political.
Then of course any athlete from a country not on good terms with one of the Russians friends runs the risk of being arrested on something vague.
