Biles made the choice to alienate herself to half the fan base when she got political. So I can kind of understand it. People don't want your political statements from olympians. They just want you to shut up, smile, and win gold medals.

For what it's worth I don't hate Biles. But I don't think she should have got a spot on the Olympic team. Because one thing that you learn in sports or should be paramount. Is you're a member of a team. And to steal a line from a movie " the name on the front is a helluva lot more important than the name on the back". Biles chose to withdraw from the last Olympics. Doesn't matter why. I take her excuse at face value. But the point is there is one person. That didn't make the team because of Biles. Understand what I'm saying? She would have done everyone, especially the team a favor by not even competing that Olympics. But I do understand why Biles made the team. One cannot deny her talent. And at the end of the day it's about winning gold medals. And team USA has a better chance with a Biles that may flake than without Biles.

But that doesn't mean we have to like her or support her. But I don't hate her. Just calling it like it is.

I think outside of the US everyone respects her for her skills and the performance she brings to gymnastics and the Olympics.
Then you have people on social media who are happy to hate others, that can be because their skin is the wrong colour or they vote for a different party, both of which are tbh pathetic reasons. Sport is and always will be political, put up with it, support your athletes.
