Crazy to see. Not a big fan of him as an adult, found out what he was really about, and he wasn’t a very good guy by a lot of accounts.

But I was a small child in the mid-80s, so Hulkamania hit me DEAD ON, haha. I was never real-deal wrestling fan, but at the time, I was young enough to think it was real. And the characters appealed to me the same way He-Man or GI Joe characters/figurines did: each character had a theme and an accompanying costume and gear. “Duke” was your standard Army guy, but then there’d be “Storm Shadow”, a ninja, or “Shipwreck”, a sailor.

Same thing for WWF (WWF forever, I refuse to say WWE, lmao). Kinda racist when I look back at some of the characters🤦‍♂️😂 “The Iron Sheikh”….. OOF, lmfao. But at the time, I loved all that stuff. And Hulk, the “Real American”, would battle the Sheikh, an Arab, or Nikolai Volkov, a Russian, who just so happened to be America’s ideological enemies at the time😂 In retrospect, I’m kind of glad it didn’t brainwash me into being one of these mouth-breathers chanting “U-S-A!!! U-S-A!!!”, lmfao.

So, RIP, Hulk, more so from seven-year-old me than adult me. Always sad when someone’s life comes to an end though, I’m not a grave-dancer.

Just glad Ric Flair is still hanging on. Absolute legend. I know we don’t really say “swag” anymore, but I don’t know what else to call it….. this is unmatched swag.

I was at one time. “Fan” being short for fanatic, i was just that during my childhood when i watched and followed WWF wrestling. I enjoyed his appearances on TV shows and movies even after i outgrew the entertainment spectacle that is professional wrestling.

I've always though pro wrestling was about the stupidest thing out there.

That said, when my cousin's kids were young she was on a plane with Hulk Hogan and apparently he was very nice and accommodating to people who approached him, something not true of all celebs.

I've not been into wrestling since the 80s but he was a legend and I often would hear of the changes going on through previews on TV. I liked him and Randy, the Von Eric's, Hacksaw Jim Duggan and so many others. I loved it as a kid.

Yes, he was a fun character. I'll never forget Thunder Lips from Rocky III. The ultimate male vs. the ultimate meatball.

I remember his reality show with him, his two kids a wife. Hogan's Rules or something like that.
