I've only seen the news reports and I really don't get why they hired someone who was obviously going to be politically divisive who's music only appeals to a niche audience.
It's exactly the same here, weekend game between England and Wales had some DJ and flashing lights and everyone looked bored shitless.
@purplepoppy I'm sharing this with you respectfully and not sarcastically. I think your comment is interesting. You said you didn't see it, only the news report (what news), and yet it was obvious it was politically divisive. I watched it and it wasn't divisive. I captured what actually happened for you so you can have more context to form an opinion.
Tell me what's divisive here:
Defining "America": He stated "God Bless America" and listed 20+ countries, implying a broader definition of the Americas.
Symbols of Unity & Resistance: He used a football with the phrase "Together we are America" and featured flags from across the continent.
Puerto Rican Nuance: He featured the light-blue version of the Puerto Rican flag, often associated with independence movements, and performed with a set representing utility poles, referencing the island's infrastructure issues.
Reaction: Despite the focus on unity rather than direct attacks on U. S. policy, President Trump criticized the show as "one of the worst, EVER" on Truth Social.
People are allowed to say how they feel and to use their platform to raise awareness. Puerto Rico is part of America and I'm not sure how what he says divides is as Americans. Unless it means that if you're not white, don't speak English, and share your thoughts peacefully with art.
I really mean it I'm not being sarcastic. The news is mainly opinion. Form your own by watching it. It was just a halftime show that the people complaining about couldn't even understand and two Kid Rock's alternate show was talking about strippers, crack heads and heroes in the methadone clinic... You know all the right wing and conservative values that nobody on the right seemed to have an issue with or the political bias there.
I heard something like Candace Owens said Turning Point scammed or faked their views. I’m not sure how true that is. It’s just something I heard. I know I shouldn’t automatically believe everything I hear.
I watched Bad bunny and thought he was terrible.
I pressed the wrong button. The American football superbowl is not an important event in most people's calendar so I was probably sleeping or something more exciting than that event.
I didn't see the fuss about it. Was at a superbowl party, they just muted the volume after a while and talked about the game.
I watched the actual Super Bowl halftime show, since I like seeing the full game-day experience, even if the performer isn’t really my style. 🏈
For me it’s part of the whole sports vibe: game intensity, halftime show, analysis, everything in one flow. I usually re-watch highlights later anyway to focus more on performance details and crowd energy. 🎤

I saw a few moments of the halftime show but had to take care of other things during the break. It seemed like it would have been worth watching if I had the time but I wanted to make sure I saw the game.
Frankly I would be perfectly happy if they cut out the bombastic crap and just had high school bands like in the first few Super Bowls.
I don't watch this sport, which for us Europeans is simply uninteresting.
None. I don't watch football. I can't enjoy it because I know for a fact that it causes people to have brain injuries. I know this because those people wind up in my office.
I saw the Turning point show. It was well done. I streamed in from You Tube to my TV.
I didn't watch any of it. To tell the truth I don't even know who won.
Neither. I wouldn"t have even known where to catch the Turning Point one. I only caught the first 2 quarters anyways, as I had to leave right after
none
I just watch the game and the game only... which sucked, by the way
@NathanDavis The halftime show was a perfect time for a bathroom and snack break. 😎 Or walking the dog, which is what I did.
it always is, for me
