Would the 96–98 Bulls beat the 2025–26 Knicks in a best-of-7 series?

The KNicks figured something out which is profound about how to use a power forward and center in combination with a small shooting guard.

The Bulls have the better roster, but the Knicks somehow find a way to win games even when everyone counts them out.

Who do you think would win a Best of 7 between these two teams?

Bulls win it in 5. Possibly a sweep. It wouldn't go 7 games as MJ doesn't do game 7's in the finals. The Knick fans would have flashback nightmares of the Bulls doberman defense. It would be culture shock for any NBA team to play the Bulls. As defense has not really been played in the last 20 years. MJ was unstoppable before, and now you wouldn't be able to handcheck, hold, or hook him. Rodman had hustle and mindgames. His athleticism would traslate still today. The question is how much they'd let him get away with in this softer era. The Bulls might be a little weak at the 3 point line even with Kerr, Pip and Kukoc. But i think what they'd lose in that they'd more than make up in the midrange and forced turnovers.

Save M. J. and maybe No-Tippin' Pippen, the Knicks are far more athletic than the Bulls of nearly three decades ago, so no, the Knicks would likely win a 4-2 NBA Finals and the Larry O'Brien Trophy.

Man. I gotta disagree on Athleticism. The modern players can't even play a full game without sitting on the bench half the game. MJ's generation, the starters stayed on the court for at least 40 minutes per game.

Jordan’s killer mentality, plus Pippen’s defense and versatility, would slow down that Knicks small guard and disrupt their PF–C actions. Rodman on the boards and their playoff experience are huge.

The Knicks’ scheme might steal a couple of games, but prime MJ in a series with adjustments is almost impossible to bet against. 🏀
