For all the crap people give GAG, I really like it here. Yes, the trolls are a problem, but I just spent an hour back on Reddit. I posted in a jobs website, asking a question about something when applying to a new job. Only to have some pathetic loser (for NO reason, mind you; I can't comprehend the people who do this), put out a "dirt sheet" on me of "concerning thoughts," based on my past "post history" on Reddit and imply I must be a threat to children/"ur an Trump-supporting incel, blah, blah, blah" garbage. Shit completely not related to the question in any way, and old shit, on top of it. Literally Cancel Culture type shit. And the things he did point out as "dirt" were political disagreements (stuff about COVID, Biden being incompetent, feminists being awful, etc) and the user implied I was unqualified to be a teacher based on these opinions, irrelevant to the question about a job post i made.

I reported it to the moderators and how it violates their number one rule, "Be nice, don't attack others!" and how one low-level mod was on there too and (surprise!) I got insta banned for it. I erased the post beforehand because I had someone send me a nasty PM, and didn't want to be bothered again, and the mod said it was "cowardly" to delete it (but mainly, because they just wanted to dogpile more), along with a curse-filled rant about how the moderators aren't "held to a higher standard" and can join in on the shit-talking and dog-piling too, and that it didn't break the rules because his insults towards my opinions 'weren't extreme enough.' (Basically, he insulted me politely, and not with curse words and slurs).

This is ONE FUCKING HOUR of being back on Reddit, and merely asking about a question about a job in a teachers subreddit. I literally can't comprehend that level of immaturity, dickishness, and just being a PIECE OF SHIT.

I would've screenshot the conversation of the moderator, but I tend to just block assholes and toxic people online, and didn't think to do that until it was too late. So his message is now gone, but I couldn't believe this is how grown adults behave.

I pretty much gave up on Reddit after they banned all mention of Honkler, or even potential allusion to him.

And yes, if they are willing to write their TOU one way, but then after-the-fact make up some nonsense excuse about "extremeness" to justify dogpiling, while narrowly defining an attack's definition to not include dogpiling, slander, and illegal doxxing, because they don't want to be beholden to their own rules if it's someone they lack ideological unity with... then they are debased vermin that need to be steamrolled.

Twitter is probably worse, as the woketards there have been given the platform's greenlight to adapt Wokeism to justify some of the most despicable forms of cyberbullying / cyberharassment imaginable. As long as it's not against some protected category, it's free game. To the point that they have to ruin the life of a woman for writing a Chinese cuisine cookbook... because she isn't ethnically Chinese!

I stopped using Twitter back in 2012, when they banned me until I would apologize for asking Alec Baldwin a question about Jimmy Carter. I refused to offer such an apology, as there is literally nothing wrong about remembering that the Carter administration was once a thing.

Such as these, and our inability to take this garbage out, is the reason verses like 2 Peter 3:10 exist. Our solar system being vaporized is the least of what we deserve.

Facebook is little better. Any mention of Kate Shemerani, Sophie Scholl, Nuremberg, the scandals of Amber Heard, the scandals of any Democrat, any doctor who opposes Fauci on grounds of actual science, any nurse who has faced persecution for whistleblowing on the medical board for OPEN CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT GENOCIDE (and faced said persecution in open violation of whistleblower laws!), any comparison of Biden to Mussolini (because only comparisons of Trump to Mussolini are allowed), any comparison of CRT and trans-everything advocates to Pol Pot and the Khumer Rogue, etc... is now grounds for 30-day bans.

And something could happen TO YOU, and the Farce-Checkers, with their pink hair, snorted condoms and half-eaten Tide Pods, are immediately claiming it "misinformation," because it doesn't fit their narrative!

Heck, I even did a test post. I wrote on my OWN WALL: "Note to the Farce Checkers: The Quartering is not spam. It is not spam to acknowledge the existence of a YouTube channel."

And... they declared my post spam. Proving my point!

And don't get me started on Fandom! Insane woke trash, aiding and abetting child predators.

Even though I frequently use Reddit, I must say it is one of the most toxic places to conversate. Some sub-reddit communities are really great though and provide a great environment for members.

I mostly only ever used Reddit to be in the comedy or humorous subs, but even they became toxic and political. This sub I was in was for international teachers, and they behave like the biggest, most immature pieces of shit ever. Even children aren't this sadistic and nasty, for no other reason. I'm not joking when I said I can't imagine being such a miserable, hateful person, you decide to "dig up dirt" on someone you just met on the internet, and think "publicly shaming" someone (in their eyes) you just met makes you out to be a "good person." Let alone a moderator doing it.

Yep, people do some nasty and petty shit on Reddit. Some people got some demon and vendetta against people they don't even know. So much wasted effort. Yeah, I agree that Twitter is pretty bad too however I only use it to follow Esports. Twitter only matters for the popular or famous people and chicks/guys seeking physical attention, that's the only way their platform stays alive.

I'm sorry about your experience. I think Reddit is the most toxic in my opinion. People massively downvote you if you post something they don't agree with and there are too many rules on there. People can get banned easily on there. And then there's that whole karma crap. I hate that too

I really like GAG also. I don't care much for social media but I feel like this is the only site where I'm getting something from it. As well as the teachers who did nothing about it, until you swatted the weeds away or tripped your adversaries into falling over, so you could escape from them. Then, you were the bad guy for defending yourself.

Bully kids and sociopath teachers have only evolved in one sense: they don't use literal poisonous weeds and the principal's office as weapons against unsuspecting human sacrifices to sociopathy anymore. They use keyboards and web servers.

This is pretty damn similar to what I was thinking! Since I was on a teachers subreddit. What happened to me is the equivalent of a bully attacking a schoolkid for no reason, then getting their friends to join in on the beating. Then, when you tell the teacher (moderators) about it, THEY then bully you, and expel you from school because "I don't like that kid. He's a snitch and a piece of shit. He got what was coming to him."

This is literally what I was thinking as a metaphor about what happened to me, in my head. To think these psychopaths are teachers out there, probably doing the same thing to any student who doesn't think there's more than two genders or that boys don't oppress girls.

Reddit is one the worst wesbiste for learning disabities. they make fun of you grammer and English spelling , lying , being aggravies. I post one thing about i don't want to be a relationship with a single dad and get Hate mail and reply from my dm. i did report them and I am one that banned from the subreddit. another sub reddit that I post on r/splatoon 2 . I post two on there. I tried to let the mods know but still end up being banned for letting them know about these user were very immature and very agrassive. the one that i am post from r/ splatoon 2 was learning disabities users can be better then mainstream users. another qestion for talking bad about teams mates. Discord is very much toxic with users that also has a learning disabities. i was asking for help but instead i got very toxic guys and tried report in another discord. I got mods in my PM section and they didn't do nothing byt sent out to waring to me that i do nothing. yet when i tell them I am telling the truth this another user saw and said Lying about me i knew is was he was a lier and i still got muted for nothing but lier assshole person.

Well, each community has it's moments.
I know that I quit going on Facebook's fan pages that are dedicated to different reality shows.
The people on there are just incredibly negative.
Somebody posted a clip of two reality show competitors doing a challenge.
Then the comments were just a string of nasty insults.
I posted one comment that read "They work well together, it looks like a lot of fun."
My comment was liked by some people and then quickly removed.
I was like "Well then fuck this shit, these people are just horrible, I'm outta here."

Reddit all the way, it's the only platform that allows extremists and other antisocial people the amount of freedom and ability to make their own spaces, unlike all other social medias.
Unlike Facebook or Twitter, which can look like they are in the hands of a restricted clique but in the end they are ''just'' faceless corporations, Reddit is really run by a clique that's pretty quick to clamp down on ''wrongthink'', except when it suits them to create an enemy and justify their impositions.

there's this one called GAG, you'd think its where the kinkiest people come and discuss the most amazing things but actually it's got an odd mix of everyone and a lot of hateful people. Rarely find the open minded types. In my opinion the audience is outdated, feels a lot like a facebook but without my family being involved. I deleted facebook, the only thing GAG has going for it is it's anonymous ability being used more effectively here than most sites. But jump on something like Tumblr when you get into the community threads and you just realize the GAG community could be better.

To answer the question: I'm just on GaG and sometimes Quora so I can't exactly tell. I was on Twitter for a year but it was to politically support a friend and post historical information for a specific group of political dissidents from a certain country. I didn't have much trouble back then and later deleted my account because it was taking my time.
