Do you have social media and what do you personally like/dislike about it overall?

I dont exactly count GaG as social media (even if it is ig) so lets not count it for the moment.
IN TERMS OF MYSELF:
—My mom always said we were not allowed to have social media until we were at least 18. By time I aged up, i just simply didn't care to have the shit. Like i missed out this damn long lol
—My first boyfriend created a fake MySpace page in my name when I was 15. He just wanted to add the status showing inwas in a relationship and who with. I didn't even have pics up lol. He added himself as my main friend but the dummy didn't think to remember that that allowed access to see his feed. He was dating another girl on social media. Smh.
—My cousins wanted me to join a dating app with them when i turned 19. It lasted about a month and I went crazy. I posted seductive pics and pulled a lot of dudes and went on a good number of dates but met a lot of crazies. Basically, social media ain't for me cause I act out. But also, one guy in class was like “Hey i think i just saw you” and i quickly deleted my profile while denying him.
—I tried twitter and got eaten alive by Black Twitter for having my own opinion lol. But i stuck around a bit because they’re entertaining/funny af on a good day plus i got close to a bunch of celebs who surprisingly talk privately and openly about their roles with you.
—I used to watch Tumblr Pornxxx but never had an account. And I only go to Youtube like twice a year to read comments
—I pretty much refuse to ever try Facebook, Snapchat, Insta, Reddit, Tiktok and whatever else there is but sometimes i like chatting and acting up on Discord.

Pretty much only use Facebook. I know it's apparently dated or out of vogue or whatever. But like, I can chat with my friends around the world easily. Share articles and my personal take on them.

TikTok you can really only send some video of you duckfacing through a cringe filter to the tune of stock music. Real engaging...
Instagram is much the same, but oh damn you get pictures, too.

I've never seen much of anything of real meaning come from either of those two platforms. So I like TikTok for it essentially being the return of the OG, Vine. But in any social media platform, I need to be able to share links and add commentary to them. So facebook, reddit, forums, and GaG.

I have a couple of different platforms, mainly for keeping in contact with people I live far away from (especially since nobody seems to like phone calls anymore and social media seems to have all but replaced them). A couple of my friends prefer different apps, so I have them for the purpose of messaging them. I find myself spending a lot less time on these sites as I get older, though.

I also have Reddit, but only because that's one of the very few sites left that are good for asking questions of any kind due to the various subs, and they have more niche communities. I have frequented message boards for my interests over the years, but sadly those seem to be going by the wayside in favor of Reddit and Facebook groups (and the latter can be pretty insufferable, especially the animal groups). I liked Yahoo! Answers despite the trolls and rude, unhelpful people, but it sadly got shut down last year. Reddit seems to be the only place to ask any question of any kind and get answers (while you can still ask things here, stuff relating to more niche things such as certain hobbies will likely not get many answers). The few remaining message boards seem to be ghost towns, other than a very small handful of popular and still thriving ones (which have still seen a steady decline since their heyday).

I like watching videos on YouTube, but try to avoid the comments section when it comes to certain videos (especially animal ones; the animal community as a whole on YouTube and a lot of the self-proclaimed "animal expert" uploaders/influencers/whatever on there seem to say/do some controversial things as well, and don't seem to be nearly as knowledgeable as they try to come off). There can be a lot of ignorance, and downright rudeness, on there.

Aside from GAG, the only social media I'm on is Facebook. I opened an account around 10 years ago because I thought it would be good for business networking. That didn't work out, but I wound up with a lot of 'friends'. Through it I've even connected with some old friends. Some of my friends turned out to be amazing. They shared mind blowing links and information that I never would have run across. I eventually got the idea of sending friend requests to really informed and intelligent people around the world. I was surprised and honored to be accepted by some people who are a lot smarted and better informed that I. I now have a network that includes independent journalists, academics, authors, researchers, etc. Since I haven't watched TV for almost 20 years and don't consume mainstream media, I get almost all of my news and information off of Facebook by clicking on links that are shared by friends.

Unfortunately, Facebook, or Fascibuch, as I call it, has adopted a political agenda and attempts to censor factual information that it doesn't like. I have opened accounts on other platforms over the past couple years as an alternative if I get completely banned by Fascibuch, but I never use them. I still value FB the most because of my brainy friends.

I did set of a Linked In profile after I retired in 2010, but I wound up not using the app much.

I could give zero fucks about sites like Snapchat, Insta, Reddit, and Tiktok.

I only use Insta. I used to be really active, but since corona I haven't been posting anything anymore lol
I even deleted it last summer, only installed it again like 3 months ago but I will go there once a day, when I'm bored for the memes and that's pretty much it.

Other then that I have Gag, again I'm here like 1-2 times a day, when I'm bored
I'm on YouTube pretty often and started commenting sometimes but that's it.

I have what's app, but you're kinda obligated to have that for communication with anyone

I consume content on YouTube most of my day. Be it listening to music, hearing about some newsworthy events, watching dumb people do dumb things, watching people making fun of dumb people doing dumb things, and most of all watching informational channels. I think it's majorly contributed to me as a person (which if you don't like me I guess that's a bad thing). And I would totally recommend people above the age of 10 at least try it out. Of course there are many bad apples on YouTube like RiceGum, Jake/Logan Paul, etc. But I think most are perfectly fine. That being said Twitter, TikTok, and Facebook are breeding grounds of dangerous and bad ideas I spend pretty much 0 time on.

I do not have active social media right now. I have forgotten the usernames of my IG handles and reddit handles too. They are boring to me so I did not access them for about 2 years now.

The implementation of AI and ML to curate content according to your liking is what I hate the most. Polarization is seen among people. What they already believe is strongly supported, no matter if it is right or wrong, true or just a phantom.

People should be able to see both sides of the coin, but they see only one side of the coin and that too which is there to their liking.

If not for AI and ML, social media is really good. Technology is clearly playing negative role here. People are blind even when they are seeing everything.

I think I've had every social media since yahoo/hotmail/AOL chat rooms forward. One I hit 12 started running away from home a lot, luckily in my town there was a large amount of delinquent kids and we used vampirefreaks and yahoo messenger to coordinate

Now I have Facebook that I don't use (do use messenger regularly), tumblr (mostly before the adult ban) for the tweekernation posts and porn, have Twitter mostly for following businesses and a few streamers, reddit is probably my favorite right now cause it's like the wild west almost. Uncensored and groups for literally anything you can think up. Most used after that is YouTube but I just watch videos so not really social media?

I used to have accounts on Fascistbook and Instagram. I deleted the FB account in September. The instagram account was deleted shortly after "Supergirl" ended. I was on instagram only to follow news about "Supergirl" and posts by Melissa. But a few months before the end of "Supergirl" she created a production company which means she gave up acting career which in turn means we'll never see her on the screen again, so there was no reason for me to stay on instagram anymore.
Now the only social media I still have an account on is Twitter.
Frankly I'm much better off without a Fascistbook account. Aside from the double standards Mark Suckerberg imposes on the users, there are snowflakes, cretens, spiteful people and all kinds of illiterate morons (all from my country) that I would have to deal with, if I had stayed on Fascistbook. Rephrasing a Russian saying: no Fascistbook - no problem!

I have a Facebook for marketplace exclusively. That's where I found my truck and its been great. Plus you find tons of cool shit that people are selling for like nothing. I saw an old 1982 in line 6 bronco for sale for like 5k. Classic auto trader wants at least 10k

My Instagram has been abandoned since like 2016. I posted one thing and was like "this sucks". Same with Twitter.

I only downloaded snapchat cus my ex wanted me to. It's essentially been abandoned since we broke up. Same story with tiktok.

Outside of the awesome (and funny) Facebook marketplace, I can't stand any of them. YouTube is cool though, tons of automotive tutorials and types of content I like. Plus free music lol.

I like to use fb for sending files and making plans with people.

Instagram is pretty useful too. I use it for motivation. It tends to increase my drive to complete projects so i can add some fun pics, as funny as it sounds.

Try a post a day (not just ass pics), unlucked splits, fixed something, made a new machine, ran a marathon on your own in the forest, camped on a tiny island for the nigth, swam over the lake, etc.

Many things take few days, so it really helps to speed up the rate when there is a deadline. I tend to be a perfectionist with many things.

I already want to do these things that i do for myself, "someday".

I had a facebook for about a year and quit it. I had a my space for a short time too. I had an experience project account for about a year where I did tribute pics for girls. I did about four or five a day every day of the week until I literally dried up and could not cum at all... I stopped and it took a while before my poor balls got up the courage to cum once more... lol I did tribute pics for at least 3/4 or a year everyday. I have to say well I have a few social media platforms I do indulge in in my free time. i. e Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram n telegram just a few though I was toops doubtful about instagram since I felt like it had no purpose for real. But later my nephew and a friend of mine had to sweet talk to me and I had to join it.
For Tiktok am also sceptical about joining it for now. But you never knpw when am to join in.

I do but my friends and I use it in a different way. We're not posting a bunch of selfies or sharing what we're eating for dinner every single day or anything like that. We only add people inside our real-life friend group to it. Then we use it to organize future events like trips to new countries, weddings, etc. We use Mixi and Facebook.

Reddit is very toxic. That place is filled with people who massively downvote you if they don't like what you post and there are too many strict rules on there. There should be mandatory lessons and classes for schools and some jobs such as presidency on how people should use social media responsibly and a try in both consumer and software owners to make sure they're equally benefitting eachother. But currently they all mostly fail us all. Can't say I like any but I use some of them to keep up. Used to use snap to act up.
