Where does google gets its algorithms? Is there actually a group of people that assign pictures to certain searches?

I'm pretty sure google search results are rated from top to bottom based on at least:

- recent popularity of a specific site containing keywords like "cute" and "girl" for example
- total amount of views without a time frame containing specified keywords
- what sites get clicked on after users search specified keywords

How would they be racist? Preferences in physical appearance can't be motivated by racial discrimination.

Sure a racist might say "I hate x people because they look like x" which is racist but to like something can never be that.

I would like to see a more diverse search in images because what if a black girl goes on and searches there and she doesn’t see herself?

You're defining racism very loosely and therefore lessening it's actual meaning. It's no different from saying that someone who prefers people of the opposite sex in dating is a homophobe. I just can't take people seriously when they give words different meanings than how the words are actually defined.

I think most of it is based on pepole searching and clicking plus the words around that photo
like if someone post a link to the photo somewhere and lots of "oww so cute" show on it, it will boost it and the like
dont think its scaning each photo for cuteness in it

from AI. there's some clever people tweaking the values but the choosing is done with AI.

i mean you gotta understand googles business model. they wanna get money from advertisers for showing you exactly what you're looking for. so you see there's 2 different goals that need to be satisfied: A: delivering results with relevance to your interest to keep your attention and B: satisfying their paying customer and delivering them the attention they paid for.

so they use ai to figure out how to do both things at maximum efficiency.
