You actually should have been following twelve users at signup. Ten influencers and two GaG admin accounts. Looks like you removed some that were assigned. GaG just does that for each new account.

As you have done already, you can remove/unfollow anyone you wish, including the admin accounts.’ GaG does this because influencers typically ask a lot of questions, which you would get invites for to participate. I suppose it is their way of generating some activity on the site? Not really sure.

I have almost 12k followers. Want to know how many of those actually post a single question or opinion? I would have to say less than 10%. I have a theory that the majority of those accounts are automatically generated to give the illusion of a lot of site users. I have no proof, but how can that many people make accounts to never post a thing?
