Teleportation physically possible?

Discussed with a friend. She thinks it’s possible with no explanation how she would think it work. I don’t find it possible because the physical body would have to dematerialized canceling Existence Temporarily to reappear whole again. That would be death and there is some thing in the medical field that is Incurable let alone a science to come along to say we can separate all your cells and put you all back together. Your cells need elements to stay alive as well.

Now I’m thinking what if their is a Mineral solution that can feed your transporting cells iron to bond Oxygen to your cells & all that jazz. But how would a stream of solution will get to point a to point b? I know if the human body moves at a certain speed we suffocate so that means we can increase the elements in this stream to provide survival at that speed. Would be need to mimic the Cellular growth like we did in the womb? Consider the same method of a “decompression stop”?

But how do we dematerialize with no death 💀? It dismantled our dna 🧬 consciousness, damn how would the consciousness travel?

What are your thoughts?

That deals with a problem of consciousness, no? If you disassemble and rearrange me in the same molecular state, will I continue my consciousness or will it result in a new one?

I lean towards death in this case because of duplication. It at least seems like my perception of consciousness cannot maintain two+ states of consciousness at the same time even though it seems feasible that the molecules making up my physical body could be cloned 2+ times in an identical state. At least the state of my consciousness seems "single-threaded", so to speak, and so it would kill it at least in the form I understand it to be able to duplicate it, and transporting it seems like it would imply the ability to duplicate it.

If you look at the science behind it, it you'd kill you in one place and reconstruct you in another.

At a base level, there is no way to guarantee that you are you when you transport. It puts a terrifying spin on star trek.

At this point I'd have to say that even if it was possible, it's not practical.

Correct not practical at all…unless this is use to give new life to those who want to take own life. A last solution although I still don’t feel that ethical even though it’s used to save alive it still requires to take a life. Would that mean mental illness & Chemical imbalances or mutations be altered?

The only way I could see teleportation not killing you, is if it involved physically travelling through another dimension or portal to reach the destination. Anything involving deconstruction of the body would definitely kill you.

Same with the idea of "uploading consciousness into a computer" concepts. That's not actually consciousness; that's just copying your thought processes to be mimicked by a machine, and you'd die with your body. Even if that were actually possible, you would be driven insane immediately by the inability to comprehend that state of existence.

No, it's not possible. The only way to do it would be to deconstruct a person and reconstruct them elsewhere, but while that might look like teleporting, its actually just killing them and cloning them.

In a long-standing history of countries at war and imprisoning children to brainwash them to become allies, I can see this in a book where this is a weapon to wipe identity and manipulate although Very unpredictable.
