Why are Gen Xers so naive?

I feel like people in their 40s-50s should know better than to fall prey to a scam like “free PlayStation” or to be catfished for weeks/months by someone they’re chatting with every day. I get why people older than this would be vulnerable, but why are people in their 40s-50s so naive?

Because back then it was extremely rare for a person to do scams or catfishing, and the ones who did, got legally punished for it.

That generation also didn't grow up with internet. Internet only saw widespread use for the tail end of us millienials, and your gen z.

There is a vast difference between you and them though. You grew up with tech, like smart phones and the internet, they did not..
