Yes, there are windows/mac versions of whatsapp, telegram, and many other texting apps.

  I've tried telegram 3 times in the past week! It's dead! They keep telling me they're gonna send me a code! 3 hours later, still no code! I got tired of that and uninstalled it, twice!!

  You need the telegram app on your phone, maybe thats the problem. Maybe you input the wrong phonenumber... i don't know.
  
  But its possible, to make these work on PC and Mac as well.

Yes. Each cellular provider has their own domain you need to specify when you want to send a SMS or MMS. Just Google.

  I only talk to friends using social media that I can use on the PC. Then if they want to contact me they reach out to me using an app that I can use on the computer. Because, like you, I ALSO hate phone keyboards.

  I can't stand trying to type on those tiny toy phones and wanted to know if it could be done on the computer, instead, so I could use a REAL keyboard.
  It would've taken me 2 or 3 minutes to have written that on a phone, I blasted through it here in about 20 seconds!

  No idea. I never timed it but, I'm pretty fast, even though I only type with one hand.
  A cell phone is nothing more than a greatly miniaturized computer so, if I can text on a phone, why can't I text on a full-sized computer?
