If you delete your gmail account, will all websites that you used to sign up with the gmail for be deleted? ?

I’m pretty sure I got locked out of an account I no longer want on a site, and I would like to delete my old gmail associated with it. I would like to know if this is possible. Thanks

No, your accounts won't be deleted right away.
What you SHOULD do is this:
1. Before deleting your Gmail account, make sure you create another email account on another system.
2. Change your email address used as a user ID at any other account. (*)
3. Verify that the email address for that account works and that the Gmail account doesn't.
4. DO THIS FOR EVERY ACCOUNT ON EVERY PLATFORM that requires your email address and that you used your Gmail account for that email address.
5. THEN, you delete your Gmail account.

Keep in mind that it is still possible to have a Google account without having Gmail. IRL, I have a Google account with Gmail. However, for safety and anonymity purposes, I also have a Hotmail account. I use that account for my email address for this G@G but it is also the email address that I use for another Google account.

You may wish to delete your Gmail, but you probably do not want to delete your Google account if you are significantly invested in the Google/Android ecosystem.


(*) OK, back to changing email addresses on other systems...

Let's use GirlsAskGuys. com as an example. Suppose you log into G@G with User Name = Me_Myself_And_I and the Email account you have in Settings is Me_Myself_And_I@gmail. com.

Go to your Settings page. For Me_Myself_And_I, that would be:

Under Login Settings, you will that you cannot change your User Name, but you can change your email address. So, there, you'd change your email address to your new email address. Then, WHILE LEAVING THAT WINDOW OPEN, try to open a new browser window and go to G@G and verify that you can log-in with your new email address. You want to leave the first window open in case there's a problem and you can't get in on the new window.

You'd need to change your email address for the account.

No, but if you can't change the email for those accounts, you will not be able to re-access those accounts.

It just means that you won't be able to reset your password unless you update your email address on that account.
