What is wrong with snapchat?

I literally have to block people from quick add because it keeps suggesting people. I have a new number so it's not linked and my email is random. It's scaring me that it's not only suggesting old coworkers but someone who threatened before. No matter how many times I block more people keep showing up. I have quick add off and tried deleting contacts so many times. It's not fair I have to live in fear because Snapchat is so careless. This app has literally cause me to almost lose my life several times. I'm surprised there's no lawsuit.

Short answer: Its not what is wrong with snapchat, its why your feeling there's something wrong with it that matters (aka what's wrong with it, is the ways it fails to meet your own expectations).

More broadly though; It's mobile technology generally. Here meaning that, modern corporations use AI and other mechanism to basically stalk its own users for the purposes of improved click through on provided advertisements (which results in a creepy sensation of your App's knowing things you didn't share because they all took the information from all over your usage).

Snapchat should be an option you have (here meaning its your choice to use that App). If you use it, and find you have a sense that it brings something into your life you want / need, then you need to look at it in a balance, the balance of the positives (reasons you keep using the service) and negatives (reasons you might want t stop). If the positives out way the negatives, just aprechiate you have access to the service and come up with personal strategies to avoid the negatives; In my own opinion, better to realise you don't need the app, that the App brings little of real value to your life, is an unnecessary stress and find IRL ways to acheive the same good things the app might bring.

All major corporations providing free services monitise their users in various ways. The most value a person brings is in recording and analysis of their behaviours (since that is your market value and a correct or near correct of assement of such is valuable to companies who will pay for that information). Due to the way your privacy is monetised, its highly proable the system will identify and connect you with things closely related to the patterns of behaviour its established for you, which are always disconnected from your own reasonings for doing those things (aka its liable to try to keep you in touch with someone you once where in touch with, regardless of deeper context; since it will never have that context and AI is just a 'better guesser' with what context it has, and also a creepy insidious emulation / similation of humanity).

It accessed my contacts without permission. I also had a different number on my account that very few people have and I didn't grant permission to access my phone contacts but I started getting requests from people as soon as I downloaded it on my primary phone.
