I've visited Turkey 8 times and have always enjoyed myself. Lots of history, great food, and nice people- except for carpet salesmen. I always travel by bus and eat in local restaurants, which I feel gives a better feel for the country and its people.

The country, yes. The people, no. So many of them are fake, and looking do nothing but rip you off. And a lot of Turkish people are very full of themselves. The people completely ruin what otherwise would be an incredible country. I do like that they're more Westernized and Liberal than other Muslims, but I will never like people who always play the victim and feel they need to lie and rob to be successful.

From an ethnic experience, I find (most) Turkish girls to be quite attractive. But the boys I met were all shitty.
As a country: honestly - I know prettier places.
