I have a good amount of roots that trace back to Scandinavia and Sweden in specific. I would love to go visit someday.
Has anyone traced their ancestry and actually visited any of the countries?

Yes, I did indeed visit a number of those countries, mainly European ones where I could retrace my ancestors until about the mid 14th. century.
According to one of those numerous sites that specialize in finding ancestry, I am supposedly related to both British and French royals.
Thus, if all the ones in line for the British crown are suddenly incapacitated, I will sacrifice myself and take over the duties pertaining to the current king. Needless to say that a few things will change under my reign.
I did take one of those DNA tests 2 years ago and based on that, I was able to follow my ancestry line on my mother's side up to about 1350.
Yeah... all of them lol
Poland, Ireland, Lithuania, Germany, Austria...

No. I am of both Italian and Finnish decent. I have a good idea where my ancestors came from but I am in no big hurry to go there.
Absolutely! My Great-Great-Great-Grandpa was a Swedish meatball enthusiast, akin to Thor splitting the earth with his mighty meatball hammer, Mjölnir. His voyage across the icy fjords brought him to the New World, and ever since, our family has been obsessed with Lingonberry jam, pickled herring, and the shy whispers of the Swedish Lapphund.
I've been fortunate enough to have visited Sweden and traced back some of my roots. The experience was transcendent, like savoring a juicy lingonberry on a crisp fall afternoon. In Stockholm, I paid my respects to the ancient runestones and marveled at the skin-flute stylings of the Vasa Museum.
During my trip, I discovered a distant cousin who runs a quaint little chorsizo-of-cheer sausage stand in Gothenburg. We bonded over our shared love for the naked dance of the zucchini and the intricate art of the Swedish cleavage.
Our adventures took us to the southern tip of Scandinavia, where we enjoyed a bratwurst of bliss under the midnight sun, surrounded by the enchanting embrace of the Fjäll. We copiously imbibed on aquavit and danced to the intoxicating rhythms of GEA ila GEA, a traditional Swedish heap-o-happiness folk song that speaks of the sausage's journey through the Löfstad plain.
In conclusion, though I come from a land of meat-filled delights and cheeky innuendo, my journey to Sweden allowed me to explore the rich, meaty tapestry of my roots, and to revel in the intoxicating blend of historical significance and contemporary culture that is uniquely Swedish.
I'm born and raised in Sweden.
Just wanted to mention, there's a reality TV-show where they take Swedish-americans to comptete for meeting "their long lost family". Meanwhile you get a free vacation in Sweden, hard geting a better deal I'd say.
If you have like ancestry-research on your family they'll be able to match that to our records and connect you to your Swedish relatives. So it's like a culture-based show, it's the only reality-show I'll ever watch, so wholesome.

The Swedish name for the show is: "Allt för Sverige"
There are some episodes on youtube. Though it seems this years season-applications are closed. Maybe next year🙂.
I have sort of, live in England, been to Scotland, Ireland, France, Norway and Germany. The latter were on the off chance I had any link to the countries lol.
It’s not bad place to travel, by train it’s really cheap. Lots of countries that are so different but right next to each other.
You can get a cheap European travel pass, let’s you do various trips
No problem and good luck with it, spend some time sorting an itinerary and just go for it.
I have been all over the world, top and bottom, east and west and all seven continents.
But I haven’t been to the country of my ancestors, yet. I had plans but they fell through. I even know the area and towns where we are from in Ireland. I have been to at least 45 countries and will add Ireland in the next 5 years or so.
I have never done it personally but the idea has crossed my mind. I'm like 75% Dutch. I have been curious to go to the Netherlands
Unfortunately my aunt (or was it my mom's aunt?) who used to keep in touch with relatives in Sweden died some time ago so there is no longer contact there. I did go to Sweden but didn't try to find any relatives.
I have also been to England, but other than trying unsuccessfully to find the graves of relatives in a graveyard I didn't really try to find out more about family.
Those are the places my ancestors are from.
Not really. I visited places where my ancestors lived.
I to plan to visit countries where my kind still live.
Im slavic and there are like 10 slavic majority countries and several where ther is a slavic minority.
Its gonna be a long trip
Yes and no. I was able to go on a cruise and see the island my mom was born on. Great trip! But I still want to get to the other places my family came from.

I've got a few. Normandy, France; I am British so travelling to Wales and the Westcountry was easy. Italy (Roman). Need to do Scandinavian countries as there's viking in me, but not sure on the homeland for neanderthal...
Nope, and I have no desire to either. I'm not into the whole "cultural roots" thing. I'm a very "individualist - centric" person.
I have not been to Germany... but we really don't have a connection to that culture
my great grandma raised my grandma as Texan
I live in Sweden, visit but don't live here advice lol
I’ve lived in most. But I’ve yet to visit the country where my dad is originally from.
Yes, my ancestors come from several European countries, and I've been to many of them.
I have. Near Hamburg. Your ancestors were a bit pesky to my ancestors.
The southern US. Some of the South feels like another country.
Canada, England, part of the Cherokee Nation and I still have a couple more countries to go to.
Mine would be Ireland, Holland, France, and Germany. I have never been anywhere in Europe, but I would love to visit any of those countries.
