Austin sucks. There is no reason whstsoever to visit it just because; it's a city for business and fruity California transplants.
Galveston is also very crappy, and only worth visiting if you're en route to a Caribbean cruise. If you're going to road trip to any major Texas city, San Antonio is the only one with a decent tourist/visitor destination roster.
In fact all of these are pretty bad... I'm inclined to say Denver because at least the scenery on the route will be nice even though the city is a craphole, inferior to Colorado Springs in every way.
I’ve already been to San Ant. . . could barely enjoy it bc of the oppressive heat last summer. I was having kidney pain
On a road trip, it's the road getting there that's important, not the final destination. So it really depends on the route you take.
With that in mind, I would rule out Shreveport. I'd rule out both Texas location, unless you came from the west.
Albuquerque pretty much sucks, but some of the routes getting there are very nice. Best to approach from the north, west or northwest.
Denver - come in from the west across the mountains.
I'd pick either Albuquerque or Denver
Come into Albuquerque from the northwest. Come across southern Utah, and across NW Arizona, then SE to Albuquerque makes for a very nice road trip.
You could do part of that route going to Denver. Across southern Utah, maybe part of NW Arizona, then through Durango, then over the mountains to Denver.

I guess i think Denver. Texas is really hot in the summer.
I love Austin, but Texas is stupid hot in the summer. I don’t know if that’s the time of year, unless you can take the heat. Also, depending on what side of 21 you’re on, Sixth Street is an awesome time, but you need to be of age, or have a good fake ID, haha. But other than the heat, I can vouch for Austin as a cool spot to check out. Great BBQ and great Mexican food as well👍👍
The Florida Keys is the only place I'd ever want to go back to.
it totally depends on what you are planning on doing and what you like. i lived in austin. i could entertain you for 3 days unless you like site seeing and nature. then 5 days. rent a boat maybe 7 days. i hope you have a lot of money to blow if you visit.
In summer, go to Denver and spend some time in the nearby mountains... Golden and Boulder are great places to visit, and the weather is not too hot, not too cold... Goldilocks weather. All the other places are too hot in summer.
Not that I went there for the view but Colorado Red Rocks is beautiful if you like that thing and is for the best venue I've been to.
So jealous of people who live in Colorado and can just go to events there all the time.
Most of those places are really hot in the summer. So I would pick Denver
Man I don't know. I always want to go everywhere. I’ll be in Tulsa, OK for a weekend in the summer. I’m thinking of Galveston for a weekend too but not sure.
Aren't Austin girls supposed to be hot?
for you d= denver co. for me, nothing far from n. y. c.
Austin is pretty cool city and always one of my top favourite places of ever where I sooo desperately want to visit on someday😍
Shreveport: fishing, food, festivals, inexpensive, aquarium, sci-port discovery center
Robert Parish, the late MLB right-handed reliever Cecil Upshaw...
Been to all these places and they suck. Go to Germantown Philadelphia. It's always sunny in Philadelphia
The only one of those I would visit in the summer in Denver
How about Banff, Alberta, Canada?
No passport :(
I'm not really a city person.
Out of this list it’s Denver, Colorado
Malibu, California !
Santa Cruz California
Denver, Co.
