I feel bad for the rest of the world who don't get to enjoy the penguins, kangaroos, and countless plant species that we do here in Australia. I feel like moving the tectonic plate to the north by clawing to the soil and fartng violently southward is the only solution, because zoos don't keep crazy people like me for all to see.

Not that I want to be closer to Beijing - in fact I am quite pleased we are more distant from Beijing than Paris, London and New York are.

However it is inevitable that Australia rams into Asia. Commensurate with our sporting traditions, we live on the fastest continent and are thundering northward at 7 cm (2.7 inches) a year.

The upside is we'll get more monsoonal rain and not be so dry. That has to be good.

We already own 42% of Antarctica so there wouldn't be much point heading south.
