There are not too many people from Germany on GaG although I have occasionally seen a few of them. I have been to Berlin a few times in recent years and the city is basically like any other European modern cities.

Most old buildings have heavily been damaged or destroyed by the bombing during WWII and there are not many of them remaining in their original condition.

The most famous trademark of Berlin is the "Brandenburg Gate" and "Checkpoint Charlie" which marked the separation between West Berlin from East Berlin during the cold war.

It is nonetheless an interesting place to visit.
