I get there is a market for porn/prostitution and other forms of sexual content and services. This does not really serve a positive or negative purpose in the community though. If anything it takes away from positive work that can be done everyday because the sex workers have enough money that they don't have to work. If nobody works, then stuff just doesn't get made, there aren't servers and cooks at resturants, there aren't drivers making deliveries to grocery stores, etc. Or at least the natural result would be a shortage in all these sectors. People still need to do meaningful work to maintain society. Sex work should not be a main occupation, but a side gig if you have extra time. We all need to contribute to our communities and chosing to just do sex work because it's easier and you have plenty of money isn't an acceptable excuse to not contribute. Just my opinion on the matter. I don't have any problems with sex work, but it just doesn't not serve a purpose outside of quick physical pleasure.
I have female friends who use it and positively changed their situations. Thinking about them and hope they're setting themselves up right. Like one of them was really struggling taking care of herself, her dog, and her mom.
