While he is rightfully going to prison, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roman Polanski, Charlie Chaplin, John Rolfe (Pocahontas’s husband) and Thomas Jefferson all had the same taste in women he had.
They were all chasing minors. Roman Polanski was convicted of rape by intoxication of a 13-year-old. Jefferson had relationship with a similar aged slave. I don’t know how consensual a sexual relationship with a slave can ever be.
@Vivaldi in his time, the police wouldn’t arrest the man if he married the woman. Forty years ago, I knew a woman who was 14 and pregnant when she married her then 27-year-old husband. The marriage was around 1974 and his choices were marriage or prison.
@Vivaldi who knows? It varies by state and could have changed many times since then. In the 21st c we nutty, the only state with an age of consent under 16 was Hawaii, and they raised it from 14 to 16 in 2001…. after the legislature overrode Governor Ben Cayetano’s veto.
