When it cannot service its debt, which could be sooner than a lot of people realize due to high inflation and deliberate Democrat attempts to shrink the economy by ending the fossil fuel industries.
less people working for sure. When more people are not working and on social security, is when everyone working quits because they are losing more than half to taxes. That will do it. People are making less now with inflation. I see a total train wreck coming. Plus crime will get worse and worse.
As soon as global interest rates go up and we have to pay interest on all that debt the country will go belly up.

I remember an old Ronald Reagan quote where he mentioned Social Security was billions of dollars in debt, but they told the people not to worry because as long as they have the power to tax, they could always take what they need. Probably same thing here.
Not a chance (don't forget that Social Security taxes were raised in 1983, while Reagan was President), and even today it would be doable to fix in a normal macroeconomic environment.
The unfunded liabilities of Medicare and the servicing of the ever-increasing national debt are far larger than any potential Social Security shortfall.

I don't think we can reach that number and make it. AOC would make everything "FREE" and it will be 70 Trillion in her first 4 years.
It’s an exaggeration but shows you we will never get out of debt with the way they run things
