Looks like a cool dude though
VERY generic, especially given that “Jack” is somehow short for “John” (something I’ve never understood!) also remember how I was 6 when I moved to the States? I had heard of JFK, and I knew that John Fitzgerald Kennedy was, but I kept hearing about “Jack Kennedy” and was SO confused! Anyway, I have a funny naughty nursery rhyme about “Jack” wanna hear it? Okay here it is:
Little Jack Horner meets Miss Muffet
Little Jack Horner sat in the corner
eating Little Miss Muffet
He stuck in his thumb
and pulled out a plumb
and said “seriously Muffet, WTF is wrong w/ you
You need help! Stop shoving things up there
like it’s a pouch. You’re not a kangaroo lady…
wait, is THAT a spider?and THAT is the naught nursery rhyme, I learned in school, in England when I was maybe 5? I didn’t actually understand it until I was about 12, but I never forgot it.

Pretty generic in English speaking countries. In the rest of the world, not so much.
Jack Smith? Not so bad. Both very common names, but not as common to be put together. Least not where I'm at.

Jack of course being generic slang for a sailor because they jack tarred their waterproofs. It was also historically given to unknown characters eg Jack the ripper, spring heeled Jack etc when you don't know their name.
