"coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, linked to wildlife trade"? 🤣 Oh, it certainly was not created by gain of function research designed by death merchants and eugenicists to cull the human population and sell pernicious "cures".
It's true that human activity is responsible for an extinction event that may have catastrophic results for humans. And my heart breaks when I think of all the amazing plant and animal species lost.
The devastation is caused by habitat destruction, hunting and fishing, and especially poisons dumped into our air, water and soil. Agricultural methods sterilize soil, kill bugs (including pollinators), birds, bats, and amphibians.
Electromagnetic pollution, especially 5G, is playing a greater and greater roll in areas where it is deployed.
I disagree with the number being more today in richness. Where do you think all the oil, diatomaceous earth, and methane in the earth come from? The came from ancient plant and animal life that would have to have been on every continent as these can be found on every continent. Probably Antarctica too as it wasn't always covered in ice.
good point, but I don't think "richness" exactly equates to mass. All that oil, &c. comes as you say from the past, but it's millions of years and multiple generations of species, which accounts for the mass. There may also be a plethora of species for which we have found no record/evidence, but the article is just commenting based on what we have evidence of.
