And make it so you don't have kids when you don't want them! HOWEVER staying on the pill for to long can make it so when you want kids its hard to get prego. And a long time being 1 year or more. So what I was told is stay on the pill for 1 year then go of for 2 to 3 months and do that all over. So your body can get the hormones out of your body
The pill in general is not bad for you. It can increase your risk of blood clots and heart attacks but if you don't smoke you should be fine. The pill can even be good for you. It can keep your cycle regular and decrease your risk of ovarian cancer.

I used to be on them. I only stopped because I get terrible migraine headaches from the hormones. I still get them off the pill but not as frequently. I think at your age it is better to be on them than not, epecially if you are sexually active. I will do the mom thing now and tell you no matter if you are on the pill or not - use a condom! Even if your guy is trustworthy, it is possible that he may have been with someone before you that he has no idea was not honest wih him about herself. My ultimate mom recommendation is don't have sex right now. Whatever you decide, just be careful.
