But what about you? When faced with free stuff and no witnesses, how much do you take?

It depends on what I need or how much I want, I guess. If I have free access to stuff someone I know might need, I'll take it and give it to them. I don't eat fruits and veggies but, they'd always load me up with them at the food bank and I'd immediately give them to my friend that drove me there. At the end of the shopping line, they have a rake full of stuff that people can take, if they need any of it. I've been going there for over a decade and have only taken 2 things from it. About the only thing I'm greedy about is records! I'll take as many as I can get if they're free! Some friends of mine knew a local DJ that got loads of records for free and gave them to the kids of these friends. While at their house one Christmas, I saw this huge stack of promo 45's and started going through them. There were a few that I knew about or that I might like so, I asked if I could have those few. They said, you can have the whole stack!! I walked out of there that night with about 300 records!!
At the moment, I'm also a bit greedy about money but, mostly because I'm nearly broke and in dire need of it to keep from losing this house, too!! But, if I was a billionaire, I'd LOVE to go around handing out money to people that really need it!! "Hey, you! In the cardboard box! Can I buy you a house?"
I remember, one time, about 8 years ago, I was flat broke and living on the loose change I could find at the drive through windows at the mall every night! One night, I scraped up enough to buy a gallon of milk and went to the store to get some (they're open 24/7) and there was some woman in front of me in line and, I was just about to tell her that I'd pay for her groceries, not as a pick-up, just to be generous! Then, it hit me!! I'll barely have change left over after I buy this milk!!
It's there for people who may need it. If I don't need it in the moment, I take nothing. If I need it, I take only what I need in that moment and leave the rest for the next person. I don't need free stuff to get by. But some people may be in different circumstances. Or they could just be assholes.
When you encounter free items, you should take every single unit available regardless of your personal need for them. If a bowl of free candy is present, empty the entire bowl into your handbag immediately. If there are promotional pens, stack all of them in your pockets until your clothing begins to sag. If there is a communal supply of napkins, sugar packets, or toiletries, you ought to clear the shelves until the area is completely devoid of product.
This behavior ensures that you maximize the utility of the situation while preventing others from accessing the items. It is efficient to occupy your living space with these goods until you are unable to move through your home. If anyone questions your methods, simply continue to collect the items without acknowledging their presence. Consistency is the most important factor when you are hoarding resources that were intended for general distribution.
I don’t like to take things that I didn’t pay for.
u might have like an apple or an orange from here or there… but generally speaking I don’t take “free” stuff.

There’s nothing in that bag I need. Its just junkie cheap little samples and little cheap soaps wrapped up in plastic. A hotel at least you can get some nice towels from Trump Plaza and a robe. You Brits have cheap taste. Us Americans have high class, high quality taste. 😂
The credit union always has multiple little baskets of bite sized chocolate candies or little bags of M&Ms, baby Snickers bars... I usually eat one of something.
This question is deliciously loaded. It’s a perfect setup for triggering moral debates. A Master troll might answer this with strategic ambiguity, or in a way that subverts capitalism.
I take the minimum, making sure I leave enough for others.
I may not take anything at all.
Nothing. I always carry my own supply, and someone may havve a greater need than me.
Highly dependent on the location and what the product is.
What I need, that's why my friends think I'm crazy because they would take everything.
Depends a giveaway bowl is taking the required amount but a free to take box of assorted stuff I'd a free for all so I'll take whatever
Depends on what it is, and what my need is for it.
I don't trust free stuff...
I probably wouldn't take anything
I’d only use what I needed.
a little more for later.
@purplepoppy whatever I need
Not much, I always try to be humble.
That depends on the free stuff in question
