They hate the tought of being alone so they jump back into a so called "rebound relationship", those most often don't last long. It doesn't always have to be a relationship, sometimes just someone to talk to. After I broke up with my ex, few weeks after i contacted my previous ex back to ask her something. We now do talk again as friends, nothing more.
