Its kind of like when you block someone, then you unblock them just to find out they did the same back to you. Seems like a stupid game that nobody ever wins really. he's doing it for attention, you're giving it to him and going along with the game. It will never end until (a) you confront him (b) you leave your account as either public or private permanently.
i suggest maybe stop looking at his social media? i'm sure he doesn't do this because you are doing it... that's just weird and a wild assumption.
Maybe he's just getting comfortable with it?
