How do you forgive someone for taking back an engagement ring after ending the engagement? My ex told me that I needed to give it back because we were not getting married and that there was no point in me keeping it. Also told me to get it through my head that it is over. Somehow this really really hurt me. This man asked my father and grandfather for my hand in marriage showing them the ring, but later he left me and wanted ring back. I don't ever think I will forget this. He told me to get it through my head that it was over, but didn't want me to be upset because he ended it.

Why'd he break the engagement?

Because I expressed to him how it made me feel when he talked about my weight and also him downloading lingerie model pics into his phone.

Basically he got caught and when confronted about it, broke off the engagement and got mad at you instead? I'm sorry but he is a manipulator and an a$shole, at least from my pov. You're better off without him sis, sometimes we just make the mistake of loving the wrong person. With time you will feel less terrible about the situation. Let yourself believe that he does not deserve you. He was being disrespectful towards you and you deserve way better.
