Am I considered a loser for being a farmer?

My girlfriend (now ex) dumped me after 2 months after she found out I live in a rural area. She's a city girl I knew at work and I was successful at pursuing her.

When she knew I am a farmer, she immediately dumped me and said that I'm a filthy piece of garbage for being a farmer.

Why is this a turn off if I earn less than her? Why can't women appreciate the simple things that we do for them?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a farmer or living in a rural area. Your profession does not make you a “piece of garbage”, and the fact that she would shame you for your way of living makes me question her character. Rural life is not for everyone, but resorting to name calling is a bit too melodramatic and I would steer clear of such a person. In fact, agriculture is a very important and an underrated profession where I live.

It clearly sounds like a “her” problem. You will certainly find someone who is worthy of your love and would respect you for who you are. Don’t you worry.

Not everyone's into farmers or a rural life. That's their own issue, and not your problem. There's literally a dating site for farmers. Look into it

Literally nothing wrong with being a farmer @introvertedfeeler. My question is how did she end up a girlfriend without knowing what you did for a living? That seems strange (off) to me.

I was able to earn her respect when I did favors for her. She was able to give me respect, but when I show her my old car, she got turned off. I can't afford a new one due to lack of budget and she couldn't even understand this.
