Some heal almost overnight, which means they really didn't have anything. Others take a long time because they had a lot invested in their relationship. Others seem that they never recover, which is a shame, because life is too short to never love again.
Mend? Years.
In other cases, months.
But, you move forward. One step at a time. One activity at a time. You don't have to forget (I'm not even sure that's possible). And you grudgingly (very grudgingly) accept that it was/is better to love so hard that it hurts and you cannot forget than to not love at all or to love like weak tea.
And, gradually, there's more light in each day. And you see flowers again. And you can hear songs again without a gut punch.
Being conservative and less than one hand partner number, it has taken me awhile. I am dead when it is over but I have gone two years before dating in the past...
Grief and healing differs person by person. Some people do not get over pain and grief, it just changes over time and you make room for it.

I’m not sure it has mended. I’m still not feeling all that great about it to be honest and it’s been a long time.

Mine has not mended at all and in fact, I don't take it ever will. Some things just don't go away.

Usually very quickly. But I've never been in an actual relationship. They were only crushes. So I'm sure that plays a major part in it.
It can take a long time. It took another person to finally get me over one. Others only took a few weeks
