I have been dating this guy for 10 months and everything has been fine, he recently had a lot of loss In his life his dog, his grandfather, and grandmother, and has a sick mom he takes care of, and works 6 days a week in a high pressure job. I’m just finishing my degree and work full time in a high pressure job too. This being said he had been mention we weren’t seeing each other very much at all with life going on. And last Sunday two days after his dog passed, I suggested he needed to take care of himself and I need to step back till he was okay again i understood since he was saying he was absolutely spent emotionally. He took it a step more and said how it was wonderful meeting me basically. I said I would be happy to have him in my life and he can keep in contact. And I would always love him. I have been absolutely shattered since and I’m really lost cause everything was fine for the most part…. im confused I thought I was doing a good thing, he thanked me for being understanding... My question is he is still following me on social media, doesn’t say anything or like anything but doesn’t unfollow me. Why? I’m so confused? Am I allowed to message him? I unconditionally love him. I never wanted to lose him

It seems as his situation calls for a break from the daily routine. He stated that he needed alone time to sort his thoughts. That does not mean that he wants to separate with you but simply that he needs time to go over the issues he currently has.

The fact that he still follows you on your social media but does not comment on your posts simply means that he still wants to have this link with you.

You should indeed message him once to see how he is doing but don't keep messaging him 10 times a day. That would not be appropriate. Simply keep the contact by asking him how he is doing and that that you are available for him if he wants to talk to you.

If he still keeps following you, then it is a good sign. You are confused because those events he went through can take the best out of anyone. Don't give up.
