Why did my ex text my mom happy new years, even though we have been broken up and me and him have no communication?

Hmm, that's pretty weird. A few thoughts on why your ex might've texted your mom:

- Maybe he's not really over you and still wants to stay "connected" somehow by talking to your fam. Even though you guys aren't together.

- Could be trying to see what you're up to through your mom. Like if she mentions you at all, he gets the scoop without talking to you directly.

- Possibly trying to mess with your head and make you wonder what his deal is. Get under your skin without having to face you.

- Maybe he's lonely on NYE and reaching out to people he knows, even if you two aren't close anymore. Trying to stay social I guess.

- Long shot, but could be trying to make you jealous if he thinks you'll find out he texted your mom. Like he's moving on or something.

- Or your mom stays in touch with him separately so he was just replying to her normal?

Who knows, people are weird sometimes. I'd just try not to dwell on it or give him the satisfaction of knowing it bothers you. Dude's an ex for a reason!
