My husband wants a divorce but I am pregnant, what should I do?

I obviously do not think that a child would fix a broken relationship. If our relationship is broken then its broken and i don’t think i should be selfish and expect a baby to fix this. I am not sure if I should just get an abortion and the divorce or if i should give birth a do the whole co-parenting thing which would just be rough even on the baby i fear. I am not sure how to proceed what would you have done?

Sorry to hear your husband wants a divorce , whatever his reason may be? , you have every right to tell him the truth that you are pregnant with his child , Whether he thinks you are lying to him , or using the baby to save the marriage etc. You are being honest with him and that’s all that matters , it’s not the babies fault that the 2 of you are butting heads for whatever reason and not the babies fault for whatever decision your husband chooses to make , but your husband has the right to know the truth , whether he changes his mind about the divorce or not , is not up to you to decide , and it’s not up to you on whether he wants to be a part of the babies life or not either , Your relationship with him has nothing to do with the baby, because you both made that baby together whether it was just sex or love etc. you both made that baby. So that baby is his responsibility just as much as it’s your responsibility as well. Don’t murder a baby just because your husband decided he wants a divorce , it’s not the babies fault. By telling your husband the truth gives him a choice on what he wants to do , and it gives you a choice on whether you want to work on your marriage or not but by not telling him the truth , gives him no choice what so ever making you a selfish person. Don’t be selfish , it’s not the babies fault that you 2 are having issues. In your relationship together , if your husband has a good heart , he more than likely will want to be a part of his babies life whether you 2 work things out or not. Your baby is a gift from God , you will love that baby no matter what , murdering that baby will sadly eat you alive, I know girls’ that had abortions and they regret every second of it knowing they are murders.

Have you talked to him about why he wants a divorce? Relationships are not easy and they never will be. 2 people will go through rough patches and challenges but what makes a relationship worthwhile is overcoming those difficulties. Another thing you should consider asking is "if you knew that you wouldn't be able to find someone else for 5+ years after this would you want a divorce" most people will say no provided the relationship is healthy. For anyone planning to comment that "but what about abuse" I said "provided the relationship is healthy" so consider your input acknowledged and entirely ignored

Or do you think it’s best if you do abortion? You can consult with close friends, family, health professionals at this time to explore all your options and decision making for the future. I would say have an abortion at that point. Unless you're financially well off and able to easily afford the baby alone, it's not logical to keep the baby of a man that won't be there. See if you can discuss it with your husband. Even seek a marriage counselor or other trusted third party to mediate between you two. And remember that baby in your womb is your child too and even though it might be hard your baby deserves a chance at life too.
