Why did my ex change his profile pic on whatsapp the day I broke up with him?

I used to send him many pictures of beautiful clouds in the past. Now a few hours after I broke up with him he changed his profile picture to a sky with pink clouds. What could be the reason behind it?

Hmm that's kinda weird that he changed his pic to clouds so quick after the breakup. A few possibilities I could think of:

- He's trying to subtly send you a message or get your attention by choosing something you used to send him a lot of. Like maybe he's hoping you'll notice and reach back out.

- The clouds could be making him think of you and your relationship since you shared those types of photos. So changing his pic is a way to reminisce or seem sentimental even though you split up.

- It could be his weird way of trying to act like he's all zen and above it when really he's probably sad about the breakup deep down. Like he's trying to portray this peaceful vibe.

- He might even be passive aggressively trying to make you feel guilty by associating clouds with your pics you sent him before. Like a silly mind game almost.

Who knows what's really going through his head! Guys can be mysterious. I'd probably just try not to read too much into it if I were you. Maybe he's just being weird and sentimental. Either way, don't let it mess with your head - you did what's right for you, sis!

If you’re serious about this breakup then I wouldn’t advise you spend any more time trying to dig into this. Yes, if you used to send him images of clouds and the day you break up he changes his picture to clouds then it most likely is meant for you to see. Figuring out “why” is what you should avoid.


Thing is, you made this decision for a reason, and there has been no time for any sort of change to happen on his end. I also am not sure if he’s even understanding why you broke things off in the first place, and the fact that he’d rather try to bait you into reaching out first (that’s my assumption of why he posted that) rather than apologizing or coming to you to try and reconcile says a lot about how stubborn and oblivious he actually is.
