Yeah drinking was not smart. Not while I'm in pain. It was a temporary fix. I shouldn't have done it.

Uppers really suck, because you have to come back down eventually and deal with your shit. You’re hurting, that is fair and valid, but there are healthier ways to heal and cope that don’t involve making a fool of yourself like this. Would you like him to Pity you and your drunken texts? As if feeling bad for you will make him miss you or think he made a mistake, he’ll just think you’re sloppy with drinking issues.

Is your sadness really forgotten? Not really. I’ve cried the hardest and hurt the most whilst drinking after a breakup , it’s just not the healthy way. You go ahead have your time tonight, but in the morning take a hot shower and start recovering. I journaled a lot post breakup, kept busy with hobbies and therapy exercises on my own to make peace with the breakup. In hindsight there was so much issues between us I didn’t want to see or believe while we were together. It’s a tough journey but you won’t find your answers at the bottom of that bottle.

If I were you, I wouldn’t text him anymore. It’s already enough he’s talked with you drunkenly for however long it’s been. This is a very vulnerable time for you, and as the person who hurt you he can’t console you.

Good. I've got a long and storied history of alcoholism one side of the family, and possibly an even longer one on the other side, but no one knows the stories, because they all died of alcohol poisoning. Better to play it safe and find better ways to cope.
