Let's preface this by saying that this is not dramatic as it sounds as we are actually very amicable.

However she has made me jump out of bed. I gave her contact a custom ringtone and when she called me it was 1AM. I immediately thought something had happened to one of the children since she has primary custody but no, she just couldn't sleep. Kept me on the phone for an hour or so just talk about random stuff.

This is not the problem for me, just the scare she gave me. I told her to maybe send me a WhatsApp first so she doesn't make me jump like that. L

I understand that you still have communication with her due to the children you have together, but you need to set some boundaries.

No, that's rude of her. Common courtesy is to text if it's ok to talk. Not just call someone out of the blue at 1am. Doing that is almost exclusively because bad shit happened.
