I was with him 2 years basically lived together and we have been broken up two weeks and now he's texting me like we're friends... (I was his first girlfriend) both 27... do i respond or ignore? I want him back but what the heck is this

You don't go from being someone's everything to just someone.. that's not a step down, that's a fall. And I'm not about to fake like that doesn't sting.

It's not uncommon, for the one satisfied with the breakup, to want to be, genuinely, friends. I did this, it's been done to me as well.

It never worked well because... When the one asking for friendship is inexperienced with breakups and if they are benevolent, they won't realize that their offer is painful for someone who's still in love...

That said, it isn't clear from your description that his offer is truly friendship but you certainly know more of his true perspective, when he says he cares a lot about you, than I do
