Why do people become so offensively bitter after a break up?

I've noticed almost every girl I've dated and had a falling with, they turn into complete snobby, condesending people. Like they'd wish I caught an STI or killed off. I understand break ups are hard but does it really make you wish emotional/physical harm or death on the person? I've had a girl I was in a long term relationship with that cheated on me and I still don't wish for her death or harm, I think it's insanely immature and somewhat bad karma for yourself. What gives?

my first girlfriend was the one who asked me out, she was obsessed with me and always wanted sex. She'd become vulgar whenever I'd pay the smallest amount of attention to another (Not in that way though), she ripped out a patch of my friends hair at a party because she thought she was coming onto me. At that point I felt I couldn't date her, told her we needed to cool it. She goes an tells all her friends I was a lousy lover and loves to play women. nope. then she went and got pregnant the next week

the one I've been in the longest relationship yet, never trusted me from the get go, she always thought I was out with other girls but in reality I never was, in fact at that time I could barely even get girls attention but I guess she saw differently. she cheated on me with her ex, as well as some hot shot from another high school. I broke up iwth her the moment I saw them exchanging sexual remarks on their myspace, which I never knew about. she now claims I'm the one who f***ed her over

even to this day she still claims she gave me everything and yet she was possibly the worst and most lame liar I've met.

I'm really sorry to suggest this, but it sounds as if the common denominator here is you. Why did the girl cheat on you? Why do you fall out with girls so often? You sound mature in that you are questioning why this is happening to you. Without knowing your specific circumstances each time, I can not comment further, but perhaps by typing in a specific question into a search engine, you can start reading other people's experiences and learn from them. Or you could read some of the many relationship books available to you. One of the best qualities in a man, in my opinion, is the ability to recognise problems with themselves or with a relationship and to be able to question, research, articulate and to reason. If the girl doesn't respond to you then you need to be dating someone with a better intellectual match to yourself. I really hope this helps you.

Just a little bit of my two cents here, the person who got cheated on is not the person to blame. He can't be blamed for that horrible decision since there are MUCH better ways of dealing with issues within a relationship.

Sorry, I tried giving the reasons of my breakups on the updates but I can't exceed 3 updates a questions a week :S but yeah I understand what you're saying :) And from what I've experienced, is that a lot of them happened to act on things that werent true or something they thought to be true, but never had the decency to actually talk to me about it but rather post their deceit it for the world to see

Getting hurt, dumped or rejected can really be difficult for some people. When it hits you real hard then it's not as easy as just letting it go. It's a given that it will create different emotions and sometimes yes, it can be immature, but when you're broken you don't think clearly and I don't think that anyone can really understand or grasp what that other person is feeling cause everyone experiences love differently. Eventually we all come to terms with it, but the road is long and hard for the person who lost the love of their life :(

I can understand the hostility coming from the breakee but not the breaker. That's always the case with me, haha. Never friends with an ex and they're always total snobs even though I was usually out of their leagues and harbor no ill will against them.

Maybe it's just me and a few others, but I have two ex's and even though we don't talk much (we all live in different countries) but they're there when I need them and vice versa. We're like distant friends and I don't wish anything bad on them. Even though we didn't work out, they're still really good people.

Girls usually have a lot of things planned in their heads as to how there lives will be with you. You breaking up with them destroys their fantasies they more than likely thought would come true. Their dreams have been crushed and that's not easy to deal with.

True enough. But every break up I've had stems from misconceptions and misunderstandings on their part, making them act on things without actually knowing anything. I was always the one that wanted to talk things out but apparently I'm just not a trust worthy person to anyone. Sucks really because I feel I am not a bad person at all :|
