Dating guy for about 3 months, he sent the heart-shaped eyes emoji through text and he just did it for the first time today. Does it mean anything?

He has never used the emoji with the hearts for eyes ever in our 3.5 months of dating. He first started calling me his gf 2 weeks ago, and so I'm wondering why he suddenly sent this new emoji... does it mean anything? He sent it without saying anything with it. It was after we both said good night through text.

Is it serious for a guy since the hearts could be potentially considered "love" or serious feelings?
