Why do people always assume I have a girlfriend?

I don't know why people assume about anything. There is no reason to assume before knowing. I wouldn't just automatically assume you (or any guy) has a girlfriend. That's ignorance. I've had people assume I have a boyfriend and that annoys me.

That's a common trick girls use when flirting. Instead of asking you if you are single, they say "your girlfriend must look good".

Referring to someone's SO when you don't know if they have one is actually often used as a way to ask if someone has a partner, if that makes sense. If the person is single, they'll usually come out and say it immediately. The asker gets the information, but doesn't have to be direct/awkward about it.

Yeah that is weird when people assume those kinds of things. The other thing that annoys me is when people think that because you aren't married or dating, that you automatically want to be "fixed up" with someone. I don't want to be introduced unless they can demonstrate ahead of time that there are some common interests.
