My boyfriend started crying when he spanked me?

I asked for him to spank me and he agreed right away. Using the belt it was pretty tough and suddenly he started crying and stopped. What happened?

It seems like he didn't feel comfortable doing it, or like one girl said, it might have brought up some memories.
I would never spank a girl with a belt, it makes me super uncomfortable, to me, it's degrading to her, and I can't think of myself as someone who likes to degrade his girlfriend.
