In other words: tried to rub it in their face that you found someone new... and possibly hotter than they are. Have an ex girlfriend who lately has constantly been showing off her new boyfriend (on social media, coming to bars she knows I'm likely to be at, etc). Have you ever done this?

In August 1990, I went to a going away party for this guy in college. All of us were graduate students and two of the women there were friends whom I was interested in. I was interested in the one girl, Melissa, because she had a fabulous swimmer's body and was quiet and seemed like my type. I think she had a boyfriend "back home" though and I definitely was not _her_ type. Our friend, the other girl, "Bad Chris", was considerably less good-looking and the ex-GF of another friend at the party, Joe who was now dating "Good Chris". I couldn't even make headway with Bad Chris! I was 4 years older than both of those girls who just finished their first year of graduate school.

However, I brought-along this beautiful blonde, Cynthia, who stayed at school that summer working at a local restaurant. She was 5 years younger than me and needed one more semester to get her BS. She was not _officially_ my girlfriend, but I invited her to go and she came with me...

Well, Cynthia and I sat in the back on the opposite corner of the grouped-together tables from Melissa and Bad Chris who, as Cynthia and I passed to take our seat, watched me and Cynthia and I think were a bit shocked. Throughout the evening, Melissa and Bad Chris kept looking towards Cynthia and me. Cynthia and I left a bit early and I smiled at Melissa and Bad Chris as we left. I then took Cynthia to a private park where we talked and became a couple for 17 months.

I had no desire to "show up" Melissa or Bad Chris, but I did feel a bit smug getting arguably the hottest girl at our sausagefest college. She was definitely better than either of them... and, I would later learn, Cynthia was a _virgin_!! Touchdown!

Actually yes. A girl basically dumped me and showed up with her new boyfriend a week later. It sucked because it was one our BIRTHDAY too. Yes, we have the same birthday a year apart. Talk about awkward. Hehehe 😂

Ugh I've had ex's who have tried to do this. The best way to get even or even win in this situation is to smile and act like you are having the time of your life. It seems to bother people when they see that I'm not mad :) Because the only thing that new person won was my problems :)

I have an ex who lives in the same small town I live in. And he is always out and about with his girlfriend. But you know what, he's always staring at me when he sees me. I just ignore him and pretend I don't see him, but several people I have been with have told me he stares. It's really obvious apparently.

I feel like doing that is a sign of revenge, which are old feelings fueled by pain, which means they PROBABLY aren't really over you. If they were they would avoid you and allow themselves to be happy.
