It's not like western people dating. In Asia it means building a relationship solely for the purpose of marrying that person in future. Nobody goes on a date if they don't know the person 100% and are comfortable with you which takes few months so starting a random conversation at public places won't work so if you are in the same college or working at same place and you find someone you have a chance although, there are rare women who are willing to date the western style but very rare. Women here are extremely posessive so if you agree to date someone you are promising her that you will work your part on this relationship eventually leading to marriage. Although, You will find girls for hook ups but you will be looked down for sleeping with a whore. If you are new to Asian culture you should learn the thought process of the people here and then pursue a girl.

It really varies from woman to woman. There are no set rules on how to go about. I think most Asian girls just go for what they want but if you are patient and respectful or maybe direct by asking them out privately then u could have a chance with them
