"Ok" - the conversation killer. Or why some people can't keep a conversation going?

Has this ever happen to you?
You met someone online, you are talking but the conversation simply won't flow. You have to ask question after question just to have something to talk about. And then, an exchange like this happens:
Them: I am watching this TV show
You: Oh yes, I have seen it too!
Them: Ok

And that is it. You want to talk to them, but you feel like an idiot for asking so many questions and getting one word answers...

Has something like this happened to you? Can you avoid it? Or are some people just like that?

In general if someone says only "ok" it is their way of saying "I am not interested enough to make a effort to keep the convo going".

Funny thing is that I once got it from a person that 5min before was complaining that people stop talking to them 🤣🤣
